Colchester United  now look destined for relegation after a last-gasp Callum Saunders goal snatched away a much-needed victory against bottom side Crewe Alexandra.

George Moncur’s penalty wasn’t enough to see the game through as Colchester drew 1-1 away at Crewe after conceding a goal in the final minutes of the game losing out on three points that Colchester United desperately needed to cling onto any hope of survival in SkyBet League One. Continue reading

Clacton girls get a taste of the Prem

Clacton County High School’s under-13s girl’s football team has won a place at the Premier League Schools Tournament finals, representing Chelsea FC.

Last month the girls took part in the first tournament held at Moulsham high school in Chelmsford, where they played against all participating Essex school teams. They played six matches, one of which was against local rivals Tendring technology college, which went to sudden-death penalties. But a goal from Sara Smith-Walters meant the CCHS girls were victorious. They are now at the top girls’ football competition. Continue reading
