A life-saving HIV prevention programme has been delayed because no one wants to accept responsibility for it.

NHS England provoked outrage last month after it cancelled a public consultation on PrEP – one of the final steps to proceed public availability – and announced that it will not commission the treatment as it is up to local authorities to do so. Continue reading

Clacton girls get a taste of the Prem

Clacton County High School’s under-13s girl’s football team has won a place at the Premier League Schools Tournament finals, representing Chelsea FC.

Last month the girls took part in the first tournament held at Moulsham high school in Chelmsford, where they played against all participating Essex school teams. They played six matches, one of which was against local rivals Tendring technology college, which went to sudden-death penalties. But a goal from Sara Smith-Walters meant the CCHS girls were victorious. They are now at the top girls’ football competition. Continue reading
