Council launches skills website

Essex County Council is launching a new online portal to help people improve their skills and find employment.

Essex Opportunities Portal is a One-Stop-Shop to provide the local community and businesses with information and advice around skills, careers, training, and employment opportunities.

The County has been working in partnership with Southend-on-Sea Borough Council, local Businesses, Colleges and Training Providers to create a piece of new information, advice, and guidance.

As part of a Covid-19 economic recovery plan, this website will allow users to search for local employment opportunities, apprenticeships, courses and join virtual experiences of the world of work. It is open to anyone who wishes to further develop themselves and their careers.

The Essex Opportunities portal is also a great tool for people who want to start their careers or even for adults who want to increase their skill set and maybe change career.

Rich Kirchel, ACL Essex, said: ” We want to make a difference to people lives, we want to make sure that people have access to learning opportunities and the essential support they need. The Essex Opportunities portal will help us to achieve these goals.”

The link to the portal can be found here, as well as the promotional video.
