Canadian girl stabbed to death in Chelmsford

A man has appeared today in Colchester Magistrates’ Court charged with the murder of his 19-year-old girlfriend Ashley Wadsworth.

Wadsworth, from British Columbia, Canada, had been visiting 23-year-old Jack Sepple, who she had met online.

Neighbours contacted authorities around 4pm about concerns over a domestic disturbance on Tuesday. Police arrived at Mr Sepple’s flat in Tennyson Road, Chelmsford, where Ms Wadsworth was pronounced dead at the scene.

The court heard that Ms Wadsworth had been stabbed to death in Mr Sepple’s flat, where she had been staying with him on a six-month tourist visa, and has been exploring London with her boyfriend.

Mr Sepple was remanded in custody and will appear in Chelmsford Crown Court tomorrow.
