Baby goat rescued in Witham

A new-born goat has been rescued by the RSPCA after being abandoned at the Eastways industrial estate in Witham, Essex.

She was found on 16th of March when her mother was spotted wandering behind units before giving birth and running away.

RSCPA animal rescue operator Rebecca Yarrow commented: “She somehow made her way to the industrial estate, possibly because she knew she was going to give birth imminently and was looking for somewhere quiet and out of the way.”

The baby goat, which is now in the care of the South Essex Wildlife Hospital, has been named Jill – after the nursery rhyme – because she tumbled down a hill after being born.
