Christina Jones announces debut album

Singer Christina Jones is set to release her debut album You Were My Compass in collaboration with composer and lyricist Kimiko Ishizaka. The album is currently available for pre-order and is expected to be released on 18 June.

Preordering Jones’ album gives listeners immediate access to her first single What Love Means to Me, a romanticised ballad which explores the singer’s battle with her own thoughts and self-harm in her pursuit of love. Carano fired for ‘abhorrent’ online posts

American actress Gina Carano, who played Cara Dune in the hit Star Wars series The Mandalorian, has been fired from production company Lucasfilm in response to messages posted on her social media platforms over the past several months.

In the days leading up to the film company dismissing Carano, the hashtag #FireGinaCarano was trending on social media platform Twitter, reaching number one. The hashtag had already trended a first time back in summer of 2020, with users imploring Disney and Lucasfilm to fire the actress for her extensive history of harmful social media posts. Student union organises Lunar New Year festivites

To celebrate the Lunar New Year 2021 the University of Essex Students Union, in partnership with other societies, organised a week full of activities including quizzes and gifts.

“It was fantastic last year, our society held the Chinese New Year Gala at Ivor Crewe hall and it had a huge audience, even the council leaders and the vice-chancellor of University came. There were dancers, magicians from the UK’s Got Talent and a huge firework show,” said Tom, the president of The Chinese Students and Scholar Association (CSSA). Franco grovels to Driver over ‘misunderstanding’

Lídia Franco has backtracked fast over her claims that Adam Driver had assaulted her on a movie set.
