Costs force sandwich shop to close

By Millie Burns

A Mersea sandwich shop is offering a discount for the rest of February as a thankyou to everyone for the support before closing its doors for the last time.

The Deli announced through a Facebook post that it will be permanently closing at the end of February due to the increasing rising cost.

Writing on its Facebook page, the shop  stated that they have made the difficult decision to close due to  high and rising costs:  “It is with great sadness that we have to inform all of our wonderful customers that 28 February will be our last day open at the Deli.”

‘“The past six and half years have been a blast.”

“We have met some incredible characters and made some great friends whilst being able to work in a role that we have loved.”

The shop won rave reviews from customers. One, Gordan Fancey, posted a review praising “fantastic quality products served by charming staff” with a five-star recommendation. Another customer, Ella, praised its “delicious pasties and sausage rolls”.
