Teacher union pleased with parents’ support for strikes

Education union leaders in Essex say they are pleased with the level of support parents have given to striking teachers this week.

“There is a lot of support from parents for this action,” said Steve Townshend, an official of the North East Essex branch of the National Education Union. “The government is very unpopular. Essex students give qualified support to lecturer strikes

Black Friday Strikes: Postal Workers and UCU Take Strike Action
